Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina, is seeking a pharmacy technician to support the clinical pharmacy team. Under supervision, you will process prescriptions, assist with medication preparation, and ensure safe medication use.

Responsibilities include restocking cabinets, handling medication records, supporting the clinical pharmacist, and providing patient-focused service. NC license/PTCB certification required within 180 days.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program or acceptance into pharmacy school.
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of pharmacy or health care related experience.

Responsibilities

Process prescriptions and assist with medication preparation and distribution to patients.
Restock automatic dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations as needed.
Answer and screen telephones and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
Handle medications per department, regulatory and legal requirements.
Collaborate with pharmacy team, insurers, and customers to resolve issues.
Assist with clinical functions in support of the clinical pharmacist.
Provide basic technical support for equipment and software used in dispensing.
Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas.
Complete safety and quality activities per procedures.
Prepare IV solutions and non-sterile medications at select locations.
Train new employees and students in job-specific functions.
