Job summary

Duke Health in Durham, NC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support pharmacy operations under supervision, including preparation, distribution, and safety of medications.

Requirements include NC Pharmacy Registration, PTCB/ExCPT certification, and completion of an accredited technician program. One year of experience preferred. Relocation assistance and a $2,500 commitment bonus are available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited pharmacy technician-training program.
• Pharmacy Technician certification from PTCB or ExCPT.
• North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration is required.
• Minimum of one year related experience; 2+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions under supervision and prepare medications.
• Restock dispensing cabinets and anesthesia workstations.
• Answer and screen phone calls; direct to appropriate personnel.
• Handle medications per department policies and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with pharmacy team, insurers, and customers to resolve issues.
• Support clinical pharmacist with patient follow-up and safety initiatives.
• Operate pharmacy systems and equipment; assist training of new staff.
• Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas.
