Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to assist in preparing and distributing medications under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. This role involves maintaining inventory, patient records, and providing excellent service to patients and staff. Candidates should have a high school education, relevant training, and preferably be licensed in Michigan.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of pharmacy work experience.
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in Michigan.
  • Preferred active status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, and distribute medication orders.
  • Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies.
  • Participate in training and evaluation of pharmacy students.

Job description

Position Summary

Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors, and staff.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Preferred completion of formal pharmacy technician training program
  • Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan
  • Preferred active status as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
  • Minimum one year of pharmacy work experience
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, package, and distribute medication orders according to policies and procedures
  • Maintain adequate stock of medications and supplies
  • Contribute to effective department operation
  • Maintain logs, records, and documentation; handle calls and transactions
  • Prepare IV admixtures and sterile products
  • Process medication charges and credits
  • Perform basic pharmacy computer order entry
  • Participate in training and evaluation of pharmacy students and residents
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
