Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I for the Rockwall location. The role involves timely preparation, delivery to nursing units, and proper storage of medications, with daily responsibilities reflecting patient safety priorities.

Preferred candidates hold an RPhT license or are eligible, have at least one year in pharmacy tech, and can work both independently and as part of a team within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of pharmacy tech experience preferred.
• Hospital pharmacy experience is a plus.
• RPhT license required upon hire.
• IV certification strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English, basic math, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to nursing units/departments, and storage of medications; varies by location.
• Ensure accuracy of own work and maintain required competencies and documentation per quality and patient safety standards.
• Dedicate 25% of time to ongoing professional development and growth; lead by example and manage time.
• Communicate effectively and develop positive relationships; model teamwork and Texas Health Promise behaviors.
• Train new employees on routine tasks under supervision.
• Help minimize pharmaceutical costs and identify new process efficiencies.

Work location: Texas Health Rockwall – 3150 Horizon Rd, TX 75032. Work hours: PRN alternating weekends.

Here's What You Need:

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
• 1 year of pharmacy tech experience is strongly preferred
• Hospital experience is a plus
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician required upon hire
• IV Certification strongly preferred
• Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
• Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
• 25% - Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
• Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors.
• Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
