Job summary

Texas Health Alliance is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I - PRN to join our pharmacy team at 10864 Texas Health Trail, TX 76244. This PRN position involves rotating shifts with weekends and holidays, contributing to inpatient medication preparation and delivery to nursing units.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and RPhT certification upon hire, with inpatient experience preferred. Benefits include a strong 401k, PTO, and comprehensive medical/dental coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 year of inpatient experience preferred.
• RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician upon hire required; IV certification upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of medications to nursing units and departments, including use of technology where applicable.
• Maintain accuracy and required competencies, and support patient safety initiatives.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development, manage time effectively, and train new employees on routine tasks as directed.
• Help minimize pharmaceutical costs and identify process improvements.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

• Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
• Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
• Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
• Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
• Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
