Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I for the Texas Health Center for Diagnostics/Surgery in Plano, TX. The role supports timely medication preparation, delivery, and unit stocking in a surgical hospital setting.

You will work in a small team, participate in ongoing training, and maintain accuracy while using various software systems. Hospital experience and an active RPhT license are strongly preferred, with IV certification desirable.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • Pharmacy Tech Hospital experience is strongly preferred.
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire is required.
  • IV Certification Upon Hire is preferred.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra. The ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
  • Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors.
  • Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
  • Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies.

Work location: Texas Health Center for Diagnostics/Surgery; 6020 W Parker Rd, Plano TX 75093

Work hours: PRN - Rotating between the following shifts:

  • 6:30am - 3:00pm
  • 11:00am - 7:30pm

Pharmacy Department Highlights

  • Open Monday-Friday 6:00am-7:30pm
  • Surgical Hospital Setting
  • Small team of 5 people

Here's What You Need
