Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician I PRN to support inpatient operations at our Fort Worth facility. You will prepare and deliver medications to nursing units, ensure accuracy, and participate in ongoing professional development.

The role emphasizes teamwork, cost-consciousness, and adherence to patient safety standards. Qualified candidates will hold a High School Diploma, RPhT certification, and prefer Sterile IV certification and inpatient experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • RPhT registration upon hire required.
  • Sterile IV certification highly preferred.
  • Prior inpatient hospital experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate preparation and delivery of medications to nursing units and departments.
  • Maintain accuracy and demonstrate ongoing competency and patient safety standards.
  • Lead by example and manage own time with professional development.
  • Train new employees on routine tasks under supervision.
  • Help minimize pharmaceutical costs and identify process efficiencies.

Here's What You Need:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire required
  • Sterile IV Certification highly preferred
  • Prior inpatient hospital experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English language, computers, the ability to adapt to various software systems, and basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra.
  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Here's What You Will Do:
  • Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
  • Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
  • Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
  • Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors. Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
  • Shares the responsibility for minimizing pharmaceutical costs (including wastage) and discovering new process efficiencies
