Job summary

Texas Health Rockwall is seeking a Physical Therapist to join the Physical Therapy Department. The role is full-time, 32 hours per week, with a flexible schedule including 4 or 5 days and occasional weekends.

Requirements include a PT degree, Texas license upon hire, and BCLS. Inpatient/acute care experience is strongly preferred. You will assess patients, establish plans of care, and collaborate with the care team to achieve functional goals.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Physical Therapy program is required.
• 2 years inpatient/acute care experience preferred.
• Texas Physical Therapy License required upon hire.
• BCLS certification prior to providing independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
• Obtains physician orders for therapy and validates for appropriateness.
• Sets measurable goals with time frames addressing identified problems.
• Performs age-appropriate patient treatment.
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare staff about patient care issues.
• Demonstrates professional accountability.

Here’s What You Need

• Bachelor's Degree Completion of a Physical Therapy program is required
• 2 years of experience in inpatient/acute care is strongly preferred.
• PT - Physical Therapist Texas Physical Therapy License Upon Hire is required And
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required

What You Will Do

• Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
• Obtains/verifies physician order for therapy and validates for appropriateness
• Sets appropriate, measurable, functional goals with time frames to address the identified problems including patient/family goals and preferences
• Performs age appropriate patient treatment
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare personnel as appropriate regarding patient care issues
• Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
• Demonstrates Professional accountability
