When I began the PT program I was working full time as a baker. I had no medical background and while I loved baking I was looking for something more. I wanted a job that would require me to think and be challenged every day. I certainly have that in the outpatient pharmacy! This apprenticeship helped me become more professional, changed the way I communicate and the way I present myself. It changed my future in such a positive way. On the last day of the classroom training I was asked if I was nervous about starting work and I shared that I wasn’t nervous at all because all of the job shadowing we did gave me the confidence to start. The on-the-job training was incredibly beneficial and the shadowing made me feel like I was already part of the team.
