Job summary

Dartmouth Health in Lebanon, NH seeks a full-time Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team under pharmacist supervision. You will perform routine and specialized duties for drug distribution to patients in a rotating 40-hour schedule.

The position offers a $5,000 sign-on/retention bonus for external candidates and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement options.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a health field with 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones.
• Prepare prescription and non-prescription medications and devices.
• Stock and replenish stock locations and automated dispensing machines (ADMs) and robots.
• Assist with orienting and training pharmacy staff.
• Communicate supply issues to appropriate personnel.
• Assist in revising policy and procedure.
• Deliver meds to beds or patient care areas.
• Inpatient: prepare non-sterile drugs under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain hardware and software of department computer systems.
• Outpatient: process prescription orders and prepare prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
• Take verbal orders, run registers, and perform data entry production.
• Process third party claims.
• Perform other duties as required.

Under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist performs routine and specialized technical and clerical duties for drug distribution to patients.

This is a full-time, 40hr per week, benefitted position. Rotating schedule.

Employees hired to work at least 0.50 FTE (20 hours per week) and their eligible dependents may participate in Dartmouth Health benefit plans on the employee's first day of employment.

• Medical Insurance: Two medical plans available through Anthem BC/BS: Employees also receive a base employer contribution of 4% of biweekly pay plus a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) that is matched with a Health Savings Account and a PPO Plan that features higher premiums balanced by copays and lower deductibles.
• Retirement: Employee contributions are vested immediately. Biweekly matching contribution of 50% on up to 4% of pay saved-for a maximum match of 2% of pay.

9. Prepares or compounds non-sterile, non-antineoplastic drug products in accordance with USP chapter <795> under supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
10. Maintains the hardware and software of the department's multiple computer systems.
11. Outpatient Only:Electronically processes prescription orders and prepares prescriptions for verification by a pharmacist.
12. Take verbal orders from providers, runs registers, performs production and data entry production.
13. Processes third party claims.
14. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a health or related field, (with 1 year of pharmacy experience) or the equivalent in education and experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy.
• Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician with the NH Board of Pharmacy required
• National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification with PTCB or NHA required
