Job summary

Ascension Pharmacy Services seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support patient assistance programs, medication access, and prior authorizations in a remote setting. You will work closely with patients, pharmacists, prescribers, and external partners to overcome access barriers and ensure timely approvals.

You'll verify documentation, maintain accurate records, and navigate privacy and regulatory requirements while coordinating cases independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or 1 year of job-specific experience.
• Pharmacy Technician credential from NHA or PTCB required prior to hire date.
• State licensure in the supported state.

Responsibilities

• Support PAP, medication access, benefit investigations and specialty prior authorizations.
• Know patient assistance resources, eligibility requirements, and foundation funding.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacists, prescribers, specialty pharmacies and external orgs to resolve access barriers.
• Maintain accurate patient records, verify supporting documentation and follow regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and follow up on assistance applications remotely with strong organizational skills.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Experience supporting Patient Assistance Programs (PAP), medication access, benefit investigations, and specialty prior authorizations.
• Knowledge of patient assistance resources, eligibility requirements, application processing, and foundation funding.
• Communicates with patients, pharmacists, prescribers, specialty pharmacies, and external assistance organizations to resolve medication access barriers.
• Maintains accurate patient records, verifies supporting documentation, and follows applicable privacy, regulatory, and program requirements.
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills to manage assistance applications, track approvals, and coordinate patient cases independently in a remote environment.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• One or more of the following:
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• 1+ year experience of high-level of PAP, Grant and Foundation experience required.
• 1+ year experience of high-level PA, PBM, FA, 340B experience required.
• State Licensure in the Supported State.
