Job summary

Ascension in Appleton, WI, is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician to support the Pharmacy department at St. Elizabeth Hospital. The role involves preparing orders, maintaining inventory, and assisting with sterile and non-sterile compounds, with supervision by licensed pharmacists.

Schedule is PRN, between 5:00am and 10:30pm, in a flexible arrangement. This position requires Wisconsin licensure and a strong focus on accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed with Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board or proof of application.
• Credentialed by NHA or PTCB preferred.
• High school diploma equivalency with experience or associate/technical degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide distributive pharmacy services and technical support for the pharmacist prior to certification.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy department.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds.
• Repackage bulk medications.
• Serve as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professional by providing information as necessary.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board credential (required prior to hire)

PTCB preferred

NHA preferred

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Must provide proof of application to register with the Wisconsin Pharmacy Examining Board and once registration is granted, must be maintained.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association preferred.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
