Ascension is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician for remote work with supporting location in Nashville, TN. The role involves day shift, full-time hours Monday–Friday within Ascension Pharmacy Services.

The position supports medications preparation, inventory, and patient education, plus potential immunization duties where permitted by state law. Licensure as a pharmacy tech is required, and state licensure in the supported state is preferred.

Formación

• Pharmacy Tech credential from the National Healthcare Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsabilidades

• Performs specialized duties such as hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear processes and PAP as a pharmacy technician.
• Refills and maintains automated dispensing system; prepares orders, maintains inventory, and repackages bulk medications.
• Receives and stores incoming supplies and serves as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals.
• Identifies and assists with patient medication access including benefit investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance.
• Assists Pharmacist in preparation of patient education materials.
• May give immunizations in accordance with state laws.
• May monitor regulatory standards and be responsible for inventory and drug shortage management and optimization.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Performs specialized duties such as hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear, and Patient Assistance Program (PAP) as a pharmacy technician.
• Refills and maintains automated dispensing system. Prepares orders, maintains inventory, and repackages bulk medications. Receives and stores incoming supplies.
• Serves as a liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals by providing necessary information. Communicates with external resources such as retail pharmacies, provider officers, and data exchanges.
• Identifies and assists with patient medication access including, benefit investigation, prior authorization, and financial assistance.
• Assists Pharmacist in preparation of patient education materials.
• May give immunizations in accordance with state laws.
• May serve as pharmacist extender in situations such as Caregiver Model of the Future responsibilities. May monitor compliance with regulatory standards and be responsible for inventory and drug shortage management and optimization.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
  • One or more of the following:
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcare Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

• 1+ year experience of high-level of PAP, Grant and Foundation experience required.
• 1+ year experience of high-level PA, PBM, FA experience required.
• State Licensure in the Supported State.
