Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with prescription processing, quality assurance support, and patient inquiries. The role involves handling confidential records and maintaining an organized pharmacy environment.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent and state board registration. Preferred are 6+ months customer service or pharmacy experience, POS familiarity, and cash handling skills.

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. License/Certification: Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience to equal 6 mos
• Previous work in a pharmacy setting to equal 6 mos
• Previous experience with point of sale and cash handling
• Can hold a Pharmacy Technician in Training license, with the expectation that employee will become fully certified within that two year time frame
