Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Post Dalby Unit is hiring a Corr Medication Aide to distribute inmates’ medications and maintain drug rooms. The role requires EMT-P credential or completion of a medication aide training course with a state exam, and experience with electronic medical records or corrections settings.

Pay ranges hourly from minimum to maximum; work location is the Post Dalby Unit with day shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• EMT-P with valid Texas DSHS credential or completion of a certified medication aide training course and state exam passed.

Responsibilities

• Distributes and documents inmates’ medications.
• Ensures drug room security and upkeep of drug room and equipment.
• Adheres to NCCHC, TTUHSC, and TDCJ policies and procedures.

Major/Essential Functions

• Distributes and documents Texas Department of Criminal Justice(TDCJ) inmates’ medications.
• Ensures drug room security, replaces unit working drug stockand maintains the upkeep of drug room and pharmaceuticalequipment.
• Enters medication compliance in the TDCJ pharmacy computersystem and performs all duties within the limits of the MedicationAide Permit and according to the National Commission onCorrectional Health Care (NCCHC) standards, Texas Tech UniversityHealth Sciences Center (TTUHSC) and TDCJ policy andprocedures.

Required Qualifications
