Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with clerical duties and prescription processing in a fast-paced campus pharmacy. The role supports quality assurance, handles inquiries, and maintains confidential records while ensuring clean and organized operations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration; prior customer service or POS experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• License/ Certification: Must be registered with the Texas StateBoard of Pharmacy.
• Experience with patient interactions and cash handling preferred.

• Receives, interprets, enters into computer, and prepares prescription orders for checking by the pharmacists
• Supports pharmacy quality assurance program
• Triage department information inquiries (answering telephones)
• Maintains confidential records and files

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visapetitions in accordance with the directive issued by GovernorAbbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. Position Description

Assists Pharmacist by performing a variety of clerical typeduties.

Major/Essential Functions

• Receives, interprets, enters into computer, and preparesprescription orders for checking by the pharmacists
• Supports pharmacy quality assurance program
• Triage department information inquiries (answeringtelephones)
• Maintains confidential records and files
• Maintains order and appearance of the pharmacy

Occasional Duties

• Performs other duties of a certified technician

Required Qualifications

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.License/Certification: Must be registered with the Texas StateBoard of Pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service experience to equal 6 mos
• Previous work in a pharmacy setting to equal 6 mos
• Previous experience with point of sale and cash handling
• Can hold a Pharmacy Technician in Training license, with theexpectation that employee will become fully certified within thattwo year time frame
