Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services seeks a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Albuquerque, NM. Under a pharmacist's supervision, you will fill orders, pre-pack, compound, and stock medications, deliver meds, and perform clerical tasks.

Position offers weekday schedule with full-time FTE of 1.00, with shift differentials for nights/weekends and eligibility for tuition reimbursement and other wellness programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Pharmacy Tech State NM license.
• PTCB or NHA certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-sterile medication ordering, preparation and dispensing.
• Uses Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe for medication handling.
• Performs non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
• Performs non-sterile unit dose packaging and tray preparation.
• Delivers supplies to patient units and responds to questions.

Summary:

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required.

Responsibilities:

• Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to:
  • Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facility
  • Use of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe
  • Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
  • Non-sterile unit dose packaging
  • Cart, tray, and kit preparation.
  • Handling of non-sterile hazardous medications
  • Proper waste or disposal
• Maintains required record-keeping for controlled and non-controlled substances.
• Delivers supplies to the patient unit and ancillary areas.
• Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems.
• Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
• Performs other functions as required or assigned.
