Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician in Albuquerque, NM. Under a pharmacist's supervision you will fill orders, pre-pack, compound, stock supplies, deliver medications and perform clerical tasks.

Requires NM Pharmacy Tech license, PTCB or NHA certification and high school diploma. Responsibilities include unit-dose packaging, controlled-substance records, and use of Pyxis and EPIC systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Licensed as Pharmacy Tech in NM.
• PTCB or NHA certification required.
• Experience with Pyxis, Pharmogistics and non-sterile compounding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas.
• Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
• Non-sterile unit dose packaging and cart/tray/kit prep.
• Maintain stock, perform instrument and supply deliveries.
• Handle controlled substances records and waste disposal.
• Answer calls and assist with questions and issues from units.
• Ensure compliance with department policies and safety guidelines.

Summary

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to:
• Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facility
• Use of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe
• Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
• Non-sterile unit dose packaging
• Cart, tray, and kit preparation.
• Handling of non-sterile hazardous medications
• Proper waste or disposal
• Maintains required record-keeping for controlled and non-controlled substances.
• Delivers supplies to the patient unit and ancillary areas.
• Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems.
• Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
• Performs other functions as required or assigned.
