Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, NM Pharmacy Tech licensure, and certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA).

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician- NHA accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Performs non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing for inpatient and outpatient areas.
  • Uses Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe.
  • Performs non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
  • Performs non-sterile unit dose packaging.
  • Prepares carts, trays, and kits.
  • Handles non-sterile hazardous medications.
  • Maintains records for controlled/non-controlled substances.
  • Delivers supplies to patient units and ancillary areas.
  • Answers calls and resolves questions and problems.
  • Checks stock and reorders outdated items per manufacturer requirements.
  • Adheres to Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
  • Performs other assigned functions.

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required. Responsibilities:


  • Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to: Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facility

  • Use of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe

  • Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.

  • Non-sterile unit dose packaging

  • Cart, tray, and kit preparation.

  • Handling of non-sterile hazardous medications

  • Proper waste or disposal

  • Maintains required record-keeping for controlled and non-controlled substances.

  • Delivers supplies to the patient unit and ancillary areas.

  • Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems.

  • Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements.

  • Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.

  • Performs other functions as required or assigned.


Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED

  • Pharmacy Tech State of NM

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB

  • OR Certified Pharmacy Technician- NHA
