Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with IV admixture experience. You will prepare unit-dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and IV solutions, while maintaining stock levels and following SOPs and regulations.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED; state Pharmacy Technician registration (PHRMTECH-R) and, ideally, PTCB certification. This is a full-time position offering a collaborative hospital environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) required.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare IV admixtures and unit-dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounded solutions.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas and follow procedures/regulations.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define business rules and best practice; perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Required Hours: variable shifts & every 4th weekend

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
