Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support IV admixtures and preparation of chemotherapy medications for critical care and OR satellite areas. The role includes stocking duties and collaboration with pharmacy staff to ensure best practices.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED. Current PHRMTECH-R registration is required; PTCB Certification is preferred. Schedule: every other weekend and weekday coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice.
• Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Education

Work Experience

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
• PTCB Certification Preferred
