Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician with a focus on IV admixtures and unit dose preparation. The role supports critical care and OR satellite areas, ensuring accuracy and safety in compounded medications.

You will maintain stock levels and adhere to all procedures and regulations while collaborating with pharmacy and technical staff to optimize operations and patient care.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Experience as pharmacy technician with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Prepare admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Prepare unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compound solutions/medications for critical care and OR areas.
• Maintain stock levels in assigned areas.
• Follow state and federal regulations and written procedures.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff on rules and best practices.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
• PTCB Certification Preferred
