Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare Inc. in Georgia seeks a Pharmacy Technician to prepare IV admixtures, unit dose syringes, and chemotherapy medications for the ICU/operating areas. Maintains stock and follows procedures in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, prior pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred, and current state registration (PHRMTECH-R). PTCB certification preferred; hospital experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) is required; PTCB certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
