Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare IV admixtures, unit dose syringes, and chemotherapy medications for critical care and OR satellite areas. You will maintain stock levels and adhere to procedures and regulations, working with pharmacy and technical staff to document business rules.

Required: HS diploma or GED; Georgia Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) upon hire; PTCB certification preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) required upon hire; PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare IV admixtures, unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding for critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels and ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to document rules and best practices; perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Required Hours:2:30pm-11pm and 1 weekend per month (every 4th weekend), and one major/1 minor rotation holidays every year.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
