Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare IV admixtures and unit-dose syringes, including chemotherapy medications, for critical care and OR satellite areas.

You will maintain stock levels and adhere to standard procedures, state and federal regulations, and collaborate with pharmacy staff to define best practices. Pharmacy technician duties may be performed as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration as Pharmacy Technician (PHRMTECH-R) required; PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Prepare unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Work with pharmacy and technical staff to follow procedures and regulations; perform Pharmacy Technician duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
• PTCB Certification Preferred
