Piedmont Healthcare Inc. in Athens, Georgia is seeking a Pharmacy Technician responsible for preparing medication admixtures to IV solutions and unit dose syringes, as well as compounding critical medications used in care areas.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, previous experience with IV preparations, and current state registration as a Pharmacy Technician. Strong collaboration with pharmacy staff to maintain stock levels and best practices is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician upon hire is required.
• PTCB Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• PHRMTECH-R - Registered Pharmacy Technician Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire Required
