Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our critical care and OR satellite teams. You will prepare IV admixtures, unit-dose syringes, and chemotherapy medications, while ensuring stock levels and compliance with state and federal regulations.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, current PPharmacy Technician registration, and preferred IV admixtures and PTCB certification. The shift is 2:30pm–11pm with one weekend per month and holiday rotations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• PHRMTECH-R registration required upon hire.
• PTCB certification preferred.
• Current registration with the state Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare IV admixtures and unit-dose syringes.
• Prepare chemotherapy medications and compounding used in critical care/OR areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas and follow procedures and regulations.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice.

Required Hours:

2:30pm-11pm and 1 weekend per month (every 4th weekend), and one major/1 minor rotation holidays every year.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions. Preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintaining adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Works with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice. Functions in duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
