Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to prepare IV admixtures, unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications, and to compound solutions used in critical care and OR satellite areas.

The role requires maintaining stock levels, adhering to procedures and regulations, and collaborating with pharmacy and technical staff to establish best practices. Duties as a Pharmacy Technician may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with state Board of Pharmacy upon hire required.
• PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare admixtures of medications to IV solutions.
• Prepare unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compound solutions/medications used in critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock levels in assigned areas.
• Follow standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations.
• Work with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practice.
• Perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
