Job summary

Avera St Anthony's Hospital is seeking an entry-level Pharmacy Technician in Training to join our team in the pharmacy department. Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist with labeling, packaging and accurate medication delivery for both inpatient and outpatient orders.

The program includes didactic and experiential learning, with a path to PTCB certification after successful completion and registration.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician in Training registration with SD Board of Pharmacy or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certification or approved training.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Under Pharmacist supervision, correctly inputs and prepares labels and packages inpatient or outpatient medications.
• Communicates with nursing staff, physicians and customers to ensure safe delivery of medications.
• Performs clerical tasks such as billing, demographics and inventory to support dispensing.
• Assists with record keeping for accreditation bodies to maintain compliance.
• May assist customers by phone or in person and help with inventory control.

Pharmacy Technician in Training - SD Board of Pharmacy Registered

Certified Pharmacy Technician - Board of Pharmacy Certification or approved training

High School or GED Equivalent
