Avera is seeking a Pharmacy Technician in Training for a PRN position at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. The role supports drug preparation, storage and distribution under pharmacist supervision and participates in Avera Health's Pharmacy Technician Education Program to prepare for certification.

Upon successful PTCB or equivalent certification, the technician-in-training will advance to a Pharmacy Technician.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Technician in Training – SD Board of Pharmacy registered within 30 days
• Certified Pharmacy Technician – Board certification or approved training/certification program. Extensions beyond 1 year may be available in some states within 1 Year
• Preferred: High School or GED; Less than 1 year related experience

Responsabilités

• Under Pharmacist supervision, inputs and/or prepares labels and packages inpatient or outpatient medication orders and prescriptions
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications, calculations, regulation and safety to ensure high-quality patient care
• Communicates with nursing staff, physicians, customers, and team members to promote patient safety and efficient service
• Performs clerical tasks such as billing and inventory procedures to support efficient medication distribution
