Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Medication History Pharmacy Technician II to perform clinical pharmacy care under licensed supervision. The role involves obtaining patient medication history in the Emergency Department, coordinating with pharmacies and care providers, and supporting central pharmacy duties as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a Virginia Pharmacy Tech License and a CPhT certification, with 2 years of pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Virginia-licensed pharmacy technician with ED medication history experience preferred.
• Must be able to work under supervision and coordinate with pharmacists.
• Experience in inpatient or hospital pharmacy settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify patient medication history in the Emergency Department.
• Fill and deliver medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Coordinate with pharmacies, PCPs and nursing homes for complete med history.
• Support training of new staff and ensure QA and regulatory compliance.
