Sentara Health in Virginia Beach is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I for the Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Princess Anne. This part-time, 24-hour weekly role operates with rotating shifts (8:15am-5:15pm or 10:45am-7:15pm) under direct pharmacist supervision.

The Pharmacy Technician I performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
Participates in the training of new employees
Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician’s scope of practice as needed
Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations
Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
Education
Experience in a high-pace/high-volume store with data entry and handling insurance adjudications (Preferred)
Familiar with managing inventory, cycle counts, and a good knowledge of handling the pharmacy queues to prioritize workflow (Preferred)
