Job summary

Resolute Health Hospital in Texas is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to assist in preparing, packaging, delivering and charging medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

This role requires accurate filling of orders, attention to safety, and compliance with IV policies and patient records. A Texas license and pharmacy experience are preferred, with a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent; accredited training in sterile products preparation.
• Pharmacy experience required.
• Two years hospital experience preferred.
• Possession of current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License; Pharmacy Technician Certification as per state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fills medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.
• Assures all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Responds to STAT orders, routine orders, department requests and ADC stock out bulletins; stocks ADCs promptly.
• Prepackages and labels oral medications and extemporaneous preparations.
• Prepares IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products per IV policies; restocks IV room.
• Interprets medication labels to compounds, prepares and maintains transaction records.
• Prepares outpatient prescriptions for pharmacist review.
• Prepares unit dose tablets capsules and liquids, and surgical drugs and other specialty drug trays.
• Assists the pharmacist with dispensing of controlled substances and maintains records.
• Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications.

The Pharmacy Tech II assists in preparing, packaging, delivering and charging of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

General Functions:

• Accurately fills medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.
• Assures all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Responds appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests and ADC stock out bulletins. Accurately stock ADCs in a timely manner.
• Prepackages and labels oral medications and extemporaneous preparations.
• Prepares IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products accurately consistent with IV policies and procedures. Restocks medications in IV room and conforms to IV cleaning schedule
• Interprets medication labels to compounds, prepares and maintains records of transactions.
• Prepares outpatient prescriptions for review by pharmacist
• Prepares unit dose tablets capsules and liquids, and surgical drugs and other specialty drug trays
• Assists the pharmacist with the dispensing of controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records
• Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications

High School Graduate or equivalent; accredited training in sterile products preparation.
