Job summary

Resolute Health Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support medication preparation, packaging, delivery, and charging under a licensed pharmacist supervision. The role requires completing competencies within the introductory period and performing related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include accurate order filling, pharmacist verification before dispensing, IV compounding, sterile preparation, and maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Accredited training in sterile products preparation.

• Prepares IV sterile admixtures and IV products; restocks IV room.
• Interprets medication labels to compounds and maintains transaction records.
• Prepares outpatient prescriptions for pharmacist review.
• Prepares unit dose tablets/capsules, liquids, and specialty drug trays.
• Assists pharmacist with dispensing of controlled substances and maintains records.
• Maintains adequate medication stock levels and proper storage.

The Pharmacy Tech II assists in preparing, packaging, delivering and charging of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

General Functions:

• Accurately fills medication orders with correct strength, dosage form, and quantity in a timely manner.
• Assures all medications are checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Responds appropriately to requests for STAT orders, routine orders, department requests and ADC stock out bulletins. Accurately stock ADCs in a timely manner.
• Prepackages and labels oral medications and extemporaneous preparations.
• Prepares IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products accurately consistent with IV policies and procedures. Restocks medications in IV room and conforms to IV cleaning schedule
• Interprets medication labels to compounds, prepares and maintains records of transactions.
• Prepares outpatient prescriptions for review by pharmacist
• Prepares unit dose tablets capsules and liquids, and surgical drugs and other specialty drug trays
• Assists the pharmacist with the dispensing of controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records
• Maintain adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent; accredited training in sterile products preparation.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: NA

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Pharmacy experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Two years hospital experience

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License ; Pharmacy Technician Certification (depending on state regulations) required.
