Job summary

Independent Health Association in Williamsville, NY, seeks a Patient Care Specialist to support pharmacy operations under supervision. You will handle incoming and outgoing calls about drug delivery, set-up and related services, and liaise between patients, insurers and healthcare staff.

The role requires a high-school diploma, pharmacy experience preferred, strong communication, ability to lift 5 lbs, and a hybrid onsite work arrangement at the Williamsville location with competitive hourly

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a high-volume pharmacy or 6 months in related role; CPhT preferred.
• Experience with online claims processing systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to coordinate with healthcare professionals.
• Ability to lift up to 5 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient inquiries about billing, procedures, policies, and services.
• Act as liaison between patients, insurers, doctors, and staff.
• Maintain patient records; filing and documentation duties.
• Set up, data entry and related tasks.
• Packaging and shipping tasks.
• Financial arrangements, collecting co-payments.
• Coordination of benefits and financial assistance.
• Prior Authorization assistance with offices and billing.
• Collaborate with departments to improve processes.
• Adhere to standard procedures under supervising pharmacist.
