Job summary

Johns Hopkins Care at Home in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician under pharmacist supervision to support medication preparation, packaging, distribution and inventory management.

You will handle inbound contacts from patients, providers and insurers, interview callers, coordinate pharmacy tasks by phone, and maintain high levels of customer service on every call.

Qualifications

• Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) required.
• 6 months pharmacy technician experience or minimum 2nd year pharmacy student.
• Two (2) years retail/inpatient pharmacy technician experience required.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

Join our dynamic team as an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy. Working under the direct supervision of pharmacists and alongside other skilled technicians, you'll be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at supporting medication preparation, packaging, distribution, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the Patient Access Supervisor, receive inbound contacts (calls, emails, faxes, etc.) from patients, providers and insurance companies.
• Interview callers to obtain a full understanding of what information is being requested.
• Coordinate over the phone pharmacy tasks ranging from processing prescription medication to updating patients' insurance and demographics.
• Maintain high level customer service on every call.

Schedule

Casual/On Call.

Minimum Qualifications

• Registration with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) required.

Salary Range

Minimum $20.53/hour – Maximum $33.90/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
