Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Practice Coordinator to uphold patient‑centered care and ensure safety, quality, and cost‑effective pharmacy services across the department.

The role assists the Pharmacy Manager with daily operations, interprets prescriptions, coordinates workflow, supports regulatory compliance, and leads staff education and residency activities to improve patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Pharmacy/B.S. in Pharmacy.
• Registered or eligible for registration as a Pharmacist in Illinois within 90 days of start date.
• 3-5 years' experience in a healthcare setting.
• PharmD degree (preferred).
• Residency training (PGY-1/PGY-2) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support OR and procedural area pharmacy services and inventory management.
• Ensure regulatory compliance in handling controlled substances.
• Lead and participate in performance improvement projects.
• Coordinate scheduling and supervise staff with the manager.
• Educate staff and participate in residency programs.
• Assist in financial management of pharmacy cost centers.
• Implement and maintain pharmacy services and new technologies.
• Promote medication safety and participate in quality initiatives.
