Job summary

Walgreens in Mount Prospect, IL is seeking a full-time, non-clinical pharmacy technician to support day-to-day operations and ensure efficient workflow. You will assist pharmacists, process prescriptions, and help deliver vaccines and health services where allowed by law.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will contribute to customer experience, training and performance management of technicians, and inventory management while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations)

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in the delivery of patient care including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications for patients, counting, and verifying (where allowed by law).
• Under the supervision of a pharmacist, assist with healthcare service offerings including administering vaccines, health screenings, and any health services allowed by law.
• Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with insurance companies and providers.
• Engage customers and patients, greet them, and provide assistance with products and services to ensure a positive experience.
