Job summary

Walgreens Co. seeks a Pharmacist to provide expert medication counseling, ensure correct compounding, dispensing and review of prescriptions within regulatory BOP guidelines.

You will support the pharmacy manager and participate in opening/closing duties while optimizing workflow and customer experience. Responsibilities include patient education, immunizations, drug therapy reviews, insurance coordination, and maintaining pharmacy IT systems.

Qualifications

• Will be licensed pharmacist and willing to obtain licensure within district guidelines.
• Willingness to obtain PharmD degree prior to start date.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become one within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Advise customers on medication usage, interactions, side effects and safety; refer to provider when needed.
• Perform pharmacis t tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification and medication management.
• Ensure compliant dispensing and regulatory adherence, processes, and workflow efficiency.
• Support pharmacy manager in procedures, roles, and shift changes; assist with opening/closing.
• Maintain pharmacy IT knowledge (Intercom Plus, registers, StoreNET) and propose system enhancements.
• Process insurance claims accurately and follow up with providers/insurers to resolve issues.
• Provide immunizations and wellness services (flu shots, diabetes awareness) as applicable.
• Assist in staffing/hiring/training and promote teamwork and performance.
• Engage with local medical community and participate in outreach and growth activities.
