Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a post-graduate pharmacy intern to engage in patient-focused duties under direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will provide counseling, immunization services, and ensure accurate dispensing within regulatory guidelines.

You will assist with compounding, drug therapy reviews, and medication management while supporting efficient pharmacy operations, inventory, and customer experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States is required.
• Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC) is required.
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the respective Board of Pharmacy is required where applicable.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 45 days of intern hours completion.
• Certified Immunizer or willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients under direct supervision of licensed pharmacist on medication usage, side effects and interactions.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews and verification.
• Reviews and dispenses prescribed medications accurately.
• Ensures compliance with regulations, company policies, and Good Faith Dispensing principles.
• Maintains pharmacy IT systems knowledge and supports workflow improvements.
• Assists in inventory management, KPI reviews, and community outreach.
