Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to engage in post-graduate pharmacy activities under direct supervision. You will counsel customers on medications, provide immunizations, and support safe dispensing within regulatory guidelines.

The role emphasizes enhancing customer experience, refining workflow, and contributing to pharmacy financials and inventory management while collaborating with the Pharmacy Manager and healthcare team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
• Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
• Intern permit/certificate as required by the respective Board of Pharmacy.
• Willingness to obtain licensure within 45 days of intern hours.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage, side effects, interactions and generics; refers to medical provider as needed.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets and dispenses prescribed medications accurately.
• Ensures pharmacy operations comply with regulations, policies and standards; supports workflow and inventory management.
• Conducts immunizations and preventive health services; engages in community outreach and patient counseling.
