Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a post-graduate pharmacy professional to perform supervised pharmacy activities, counseling customers on medication usage and interactions, and supporting immunization services. You will ensure proper compounding, dispensing, review and verification of prescriptions within regulatory guidelines and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university outside the United States.
• Foreign Pharmacist Graduate Equivalency Certificate (FPGEC).
• Intern permit/certificate issued by the respective Board of Pharmacy, if required.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 45 days of completion of intern hours.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage of medicine, side effects and interactions to ensure proper use.
• Performs pharmacy tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews and verification.
• Reviews, interprets and dispenses prescribed medications in alignment with regulations and policies.
• Maintains Good Faith Dispensing practices and follows state and federal laws for controlled substances.
• Supports workflow, inventory management and customer experience improvements.
• Engages with local medical community and assists with community outreach activities.

Education
