Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a 3rd-year Pharmacy Intern to support pharmacy teams in retail locations. You will apply didactic learning to real-world practice, working under a preceptor to gain hands-on experience and learn store, district, and regional operations.

You will assist with medication safety, patient service, immunizations, and opportunities for greater responsibility as you progress toward a pharmacist role. This is a part-time internship with training and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow SOPs and pharmacy workflow at each station to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Counsel patients when appropriate and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions where allowed by state regulation.
• Maintain inventory activities and support cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and related tasks as directed.
• Be flexible for scheduling and travel to stores to support the market.
