Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern to apply didactic learning in real-world practice, under a preceptor, gaining exposure to store, district, and regional operations.

You will support pharmacy teams, assist with ensuring safe, accurate prescriptions, and learn to operate within Standard Operating Procedures while building empathy and professional growth. This is a part-time role within CVS Health’s retail pharmacy network.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and with caring service.
• Counsel patients when appropriate under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify changes where allowed by state regulations.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as directed by leadership.
• Complete basic inventory activities and assist with stocking and cycles counts.
• Travel to stores in the market to support business needs and shifts.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
