Job summary

Meijer Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support customer service, process and fill prescriptions, and assist with third party functions under supervision. You must be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school and hold a Pharmacy Intern License (state specific).

• Enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
• Pharmacy Intern License (state-specific).
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
• Neat, legible penmanship and strong organizational skills.
• Team-oriented with reliability and timeliness.
• Understanding of patient confidentiality and basic math skills.
• Willingness to participate in clinical services under supervision.
• Knowledge of brand/generic names and MTM concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at the pharmacy.
• Communicate with patients in person and by phone; assist with product selection.
• Process and fill prescriptions.
• Use pharmacy computer system for data entry and third-party adjudication.
• Pull products, count and label prescriptions.
• Handle third-party functions and inventory management.
• Update balance on hand and process vendor chargebacks and transfers.
• Provide clinical services.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
