Job summary

Amerita is seeking an Intake Coordinator to ensure timely clearance of new referrals. The role supports documentation and payer communications, handling authorizations and data entry with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

You will collaborate with multiple departments to verify coverage, inform patients about responsibilities, and ensure referrals reach the pharmacist with proper authorization and within scope.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes infusion therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures intake forms are complete and within Amerita’s scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographics, insurance and authorization data into the system.
• Communicates with other departments about referral status.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Understands insurance contracts with Amerita and verifies coverage.
• Ensures insurance verification and authorization before handing referrals to pharmacists.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
