Job summary

Amerita is seeking an Intake Coordinator in Oklahoma City to manage the timely clearance of new infusion referrals. You will enter demographics, verify insurance, obtain authorizations, and coordinate with care teams to keep referrals moving.

Day-to-day duties include payer communications, notifying patients about coverage, and safeguarding confidentiality in a supportive, patient-focused environment. Shift: Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• At least 2 years' experience collecting referral information in healthcare.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Understands Amerita scope of services and processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes Infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures intake forms are complete, clear and within Amerita’s scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the computer system.
• Communicates with other departments regarding the status of referrals.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Understands which insurance companies have active contracts with Amerita.
• Ensures that insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place prior to giving the referral to a Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
