Job summary

Amerita, an affiliate of BrightSpring Health Services, seeks an Intake Coordinator to ensure timely clearance of new referrals. The role supports infusion therapy referrals, handles authorizations, and coordinates with payers and patients. Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree or some college preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market.
• Experience with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Understands Amerita’s scope of services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes Infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures intake forms are complete, clear and within Amerita’s scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the system.
• Communicates with other departments regarding referral status.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Knows which insurance companies have active contracts with Amerita.
• Ensures insurance verification and authorization is in place before referral to Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.

• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.

• Ensures that insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place prior to giving the referral to a Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
