Amerita in Irving, TX is seeking an Intake Coordinator to ensure timely clearance of new referrals and proper documentation. The role supports outpatient infusion services, coordinating authorizations and payer communications to keep referrals moving.

Responsibilities include data entry, collecting demographics and insurance details, and liaising with departments to resolve coverage questions. Strong communication and healthcare experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare intake/referral processing.
• Experience with insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Familiarity with payer types (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial).
• Knowledge of Amerita scope of services.

Responsibilities

• Takes Infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures that all intake forms are complete, clear and within Amerita’s scope of service.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the computer system.
• Communicates with other departments regarding the status of referrals.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Understands which insurance companies have active contracts with Amerita.
• Ensures that insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place prior to giving the referral to a Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
