Job summary

Amerita seeks a Pharmacy Intake Coordinator in Salt Lake City to manage the timely clearance of new referrals and verify patient information. You will intake referrals from sources, ensure forms are complete, and enter demographic and insurance data into the system.

You will coordinate authorizations, communicate with other departments, inform patients about coverage and payment responsibilities, and maintain confidentiality while upholding Amerita's scope of services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience collecting referral information in the healthcare market.
• Experience with all payer types including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurers.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and pre-certification procedures.
• Understands Amerita's scope of services.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Takes Infusion Therapy referrals from referral sources.
• Ensures intake forms are complete and within Amerita's scope.
• Obtains authorizations and re-authorizations as required by payers.
• Enters patient demographic, insurance and authorization information into the system.
• Communicates with other departments about referral status.
• Notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Understands which insurance companies have active contracts with Amerita.
• Ensures insurance verification is completed and authorization is in place before giving the referral to a Pharmacist.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
